· Mainstream group – can afford to advertise their albums on television with HMV, a major seller.
· Obviously popular as they have been highlighted in the advert, confidence from HMV that it will sell.
· The font and style of writing on the album suggests a rebellious and energetic group, implying that the music is similar and aimed at the teenage audience. The brashness of the words on cover attract attention, making it stand out and the gold lettering is linked to the artists wealth- again stereotypical of the music genre.
· The colours used on the album cover are bold and serious, predictable of this genre of music. This added with the bold and brash font of words hints that the music on the album carries a serious tone with an “in your face” attitude.
· The costumes of the artists are predictable of the genre- flashy, showing off their wealth through jewelry, typical of the popstar/rapstar lifestyle.
· HMV advert- quarter screen but is centered for maximum audience attention.
· Both the album cover and digipack image show fairly redundant album artwork. Predictable and stereotypical of the genre and group themselves, appropriate for the target audience.
· Having the appropriate artwork when downloading an album or song isn’t necessary, but people, myself included, feel that the downloaded item is “incomplete” without it. The artwork of the album says something about the songs on the album.
